Photography Show Winners to Show Work at Library beginning November 18

WAG had a juried, kick off photography show in June that was well received in the beautiful new WAG gallery. The 2 best in show winners were awarded a show at the Westport Free Public Library this November. WAG will be showing more photography in the near future. Please come to this reception on November 18 at the library to see the innovation and creativity of these two photographers.

WAG Artists painting en plein air during Historical Society House Tour – August 6

Several Westport Art Group Artists will be painting plein air at homes on the Westport Historical Society House Tour on Sunday, August 6, 11 am – 4 pm. The tour is a self-guided look at seven spectacular private homes located throughout the idyllic SouthCoast town.

The gracious owners of the architecturally significant homes at the Point, the Harbor and in south Westport will throw open their doors and gardens to a limited number of visitors from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit the Westport  Historical Society website:

Westport Art Group members open their studios during The Art Drive August 12-13

Member artists and others will be participating in the 10th annual Art drive, a juried studio tour organized by Westport and Dartmouth artists, and which include some of the area’s premier painters, ceramic artists, photographers, jewelers, fiber artists, woodworkers, metal artists, and more.

2017 Art Installation Party in Westport – August 26 and 27 – features WAG artists and others

WAG members Sharon Andrade, Christina Glaser, Rich Perry and Linda Rogers are four of ten participants of the 2017 Installation Party at 1331 Drift Road in Westport.

Artists will show installation, assemblage, tableau and other media. Projects include the conscious and unconscious brain, lawn sculpture and scenes, photographic enthusiasm and compulsions, Bozo the Clown in his new, third persona and a few surprises.

The event is open to the public on Saturday August 26 – 12 to 5 and Sunday August 27 – 12 to 4. Please stop by for art and refreshments; we hope to see you there!

Whimsical linocut prints by Christina Glaser on display at Marguerite’s Restaurant

Colorful and whimsical linocut prints by Christina Glaser are on display at Marguerite’s Restaurant on Main Road in Westport. The prints feature local Acoaxet scenes – the Fork, the Knubble, and Elephant Rock Beach Club – as well as quirky fish prints, mermaids and krakens. All of the original works hanging are for sale.
