Created for the love of art and community.
Westport Art Group was formed in 1955 by a small group of local, art-minded women. Since then, we have grown into a robust and colorful community organization approaching 250 members from all over South Coast, Massachusetts, southern Rhode Island, and beyond. At our active Main Road, Westport Point building, we offer both adult and youth art classes and show events throughout the year, many of which are open to the public. We are a 501(c)3 organization.

Subtractive Monotypes - An Entryway into Printmaking
A One day Workshop with Instructor Kim Gatesman
Saturday, February 7, 12-4pm
Monotypes are a simple, elegant entryway into printmaking. They are not as technical nor physically demanding as other methods. And the simplicity of the process lends itself to a shorter time frame from plate to press. We will explore two basic techniques to become acquainted with the feel and methods of this process–first, trace monotypes followed by subtractive monotypes. Each utilize mark-making techniques similar to drawing and painting, making this a great class for those familiar with other 2D mediums. Max 10 students. Most supplies are provided! Registration is open on Adult Art!
