“Reflections” - A Judged Exhibition
April 24 - May 11, 2025

In person Awards at reception: Sunday, April 27, 5pm – 7pm

The first weekend will be in collaboration with and promoted by the Artweek SouthCoast festival calendar.

The Westport Art Group invites members and non-members to consider the theme: Reflections.

Entry Guidelines: Each artist may submit up to 2 pieces. Open to all mediums, including photography and 3D, representing the theme: “Reflections.” The interpretation is up to you. Reflections could be literal or implied as in a face or figure reflecting on the past, or an emotion, or something that was said.

2D size not to exceed 36” x 36”, 3D size under 24”x24”x24” . Wall-mounted work must be no larger than 36” x 36” (including the entire frame), framed or gallery-wrapped, and ready to hang with a wire hanging. No sawtooth hangers. Diptychs and triptychs can be no larger than 36” x 36” – including space between the art pieces.

Entries must be your original work, not a reproduction or copy of another work WAG reserves the discretion to not show a work, including, for example, a work that does not meet these criteria.

USE OF IMAGES: Any artwork submitted may be used for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to this show. This use may include publication in any publications, printed materials, advertisements, or electronic media. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the artist.

All art must be delivered in person. Name of work, name of artist, address, and phone, email must be affixed to the back of each piece. Only work that has not been previously shown at WAG will be accepted.

DROP OFF: Delivery of art Thursday April 17, 12:30-1-30 and 4-6 PM to The Westport Art Group at 1740 Main Road, Westport MA 02790. Art will not be accepted after these times. The entry fee is paid at drop off, payable with cash, check or credit card.

PICK-UP: All unsold artwork must be picked up when the show closes on Sunday, May 11, 4:00-4:30 PM or on Monday, May 12 between 4:00 and 6:00 PM or by prior arrangement. Works not picked up may have a storage fee, and within 30 days becomes the property of WAG. For questions, contact WAG at info@westportartgroup.com.

Entry Fees: $20 for one entry, $25 for two entries for members; $35 for one entry and $40 for two entries for non-members. Members can have a $15 fee reduction for gallery sitting. We encourage artists to sign up for gallery sitting through SignUpGenius.

Your artwork should be submitted for sale (25% commission) ,if you so choose only one painting can be” not for sale,” just be sure to specify “NFS.” Nonmembers may consider becoming a WAG member. Link to Join.

Judged Awards: The juror for this exhibition will be Kat Knutsen. Kat is a BCC Visual Art foundations professor, painter, muralist, and 'Loving Vincent' movie animator.

Best in Show ($175 prize), Jurors Choice for Best Interpretation of the Theme ($150 prize), Second place ($75 prize) and Honorable Mentions.

SCA Open Studio Tour Returns to Westport Art Group

July 19-20 & August 16-17

Call to Artists: WAG Members can participate in Open Studio at the WAG building, 1740 Main Rd, Westport Point. SCA Tour dates are: July 19-20, 11 am to 5 pm & August 16-17, 11 am to 5 pm. For information on South Coast Artists, please visit their website.

HOW TO SIGN UP: Save these dates! March 1 – March 21, 2025

WAG members can sign-up online to reserve a space for showing their artwork at Westport Art Group during one of the two 2025 SCA Open Studio weekends during the online sign up period: March 1 through March 21 here on the Events page.

• Sign up for ONLY ONE weekend: July or August.

• Space is limited to seven WAG members each weekend, allocated on a first-to-signup basis.

• Online sign-up starts March 1st here on the Events page. If spaces are filled before March 21st, sign-up will close early.

• The fee is $85 per weekend; WAG takes no commission on sales.

• Artists are responsible for set-up, take down, being on site during open hours, and complying with SCA and WAG rules.

• Artists may only show their own, original artworks.

• If there are spaces available, artists may be able to do both weekends. Sign up ONLY for your 1st choice weekend and email WAG for a request for the other weekend. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MORE THAN 1 WEEKEND.

The Periwinkle Shop

WELCOME to the NEW Periwinkle Gift Shop at Westport Art Group!

The Periwinkle Shop features small art items, handcrafted gifts and small wall-hung works made by our members, and is located in the Westport Art Group lobby. The Periwinkle Shop is open during classes and by appointment at 1740 Main Road, Westport Point, MA.

FREE SHELF & WALL SPACE AVAILABLE NOW IN THE PERIWINKLE SHOP!

One of the perks of WAG membership is being able to sell your artwork and handmade original items in the Periwinkle Gift Shop – and you’re invited to participate! All current WAG members can submit small works of art and original handmade items to sell at the gallery - without charge for the space. WAG will retain a 25% commission on all items sold.

Submissions may include artwork in all mediums, photography, handmade jewelry, sculptures, fiber art, books and other items.

· WALL ART must not exceed 12” x 12” and cannot exceed $150 in price.
· CABINET items can’t be taller than 12” due to the dimensions of the shelves.

If you’re interested in selling in the Periwinkle Shop, just download and complete the Inventory Submittal form below, and email it to Robert Dec at bossbandbob@gmail.com, and I’ll arrange to meet you. Please mention Periwinkle Shop in the subject line! We can work out an agreeable date and time. We are also looking for a member volunteer to help run the Periwinkle Shop.
