Westport Art Group Annual Meeting - October 24, 2024. Current members of WAG voted to elect group officers. There was a Potluck dinner. Special Additions to this year's Annual Meeting: Donated artwork sale, art book, artist slide show, mixed media exhibition, and a slide show presentation by Eileen Riley.
Collage and Mixed Media exhibit - “TRANSMEDIUM”: October 17 - 27, 2024. he artwork in this show represented artists implementing a wide range of materials and techniques. They used traditional art supplies like oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, and pencils, along with unconventional elements such as textiles, metal leaf, and recycled materials. Techniques such as layering, collage, texture-building, and image transfer were combined for creative artworks. A Special Event was held November 1st: Exploring Mixed Media with Eileen Riley.
Exploring Mixed Media: A Journey Through Texture, Color, and Depth A- November 1, 2024. A Special event by Eileen Riley.
This demonstration was designed for artists and anyone who might be interested in the dynamic and versatile world of mixed media.
Eileen Riley demonstrated four distinct techniques: the technique of paint splattering for artistic effects; collaging using various materials; enhancing a design using metal leaf; and safety and application techniques for epoxy coating.
Kim Barry Artist Talk and Demo - October 8, 2024Kim Barry is a painter, potter, sculptor, and art educator. She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Sculpture and from University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth with an MFA in Painting. Kim has lived in the south coast of Massachusetts most of her life and is a member of Hatch Street Studios in New Bedford, South Coast Artist, an exhibiting and teaching member of the Providence Art Club, Rogers Gallery in Mattapoisett, The Drawing Room in New Bedford, Westport Art Group, Marion Art Center, Cape Cod Cultural Center, and owner of Clay Trout Pottery in Mattapoisett. Her work is informed by the beautiful, south coast environment and the natural objects she encounters.

It’s Only Natural - Westport Art Group’s Spring Show- May 9-26, 2024
This was a judged exhibition. The exhibition displays a diverse variety of media, with each artist's creative interpretation of the theme “It’s Only Natural.” This exhibit was in conjunction with Artweek SouthCoast. Show Judge Kris Donovan is a little Compton artist working in pastels, oils, and watercolors, formerly of the Donovan Gallery at Tiverton Four Corners. "Lessons Learned in Zuni: A Pueblo Memoir" by Richard Tripp - Sunday April 14, 2024. Richard Tripp, teacher/farmer/weaver/writer, taught high school English on the Zuni Pueblo reservation in New Mexico from 1969-1972 and spoke about his teaching experiences in Zuni, tales of learning Pueblo pottery and Navajo weaving, anecdotes of his time living in a remote sheep camp behind the sacred mesa, then living in the pueblo itself and observing many ceremonies.
Westport, Dartmouth & Tiverton High School Students Show: April 6-7, 2024.
High school artists from Westport, Dartmouth and Tiverton High Schools exhibited their artwork. The show reception was Sunday, April 7th.

First Tuesday, January 9, 2024 - Greg Stone zoom presentation. Westport photographer Greg Stone shared his breathtaking photos that capture our local natural world. The focus was the merging of traditional landscape photography with wildlife photography and other active elements to create dynamic landscape images. Small Works Show and Holiday Fair - November 24-December 3, 2023. Small Works - Nearly 100 works were for sale at the WAG gallery in Westport. Pieces from the WAG Small Works+ Show made perfect additions to add to a growing art collection, as well as thoughtful and unique gifts for the holidays. We held our Fine Crafts & Ornaments Holiday Fair on December 2nd where there were unique and beautiful gift items including handmade soaps, yarn animals, mandala wall hangings, jewelry, gluten free cookies, metal yard art, macrame items, cards, ornaments and much more! We thank our generous sponsors for raffle gift items and all their support for the art community!
