Janet Dubuc

Since retiring from my lifelong career teaching art to high school students, I have been concentrating my artistic efforts in painting, both with watercolors and oils. My realistic approach to painting my subject is enhanced by intention to set a mood so the viewer can imagine his/ her own story. I am attracted to the variety of light and reflection, and often my subjects include water, boats and sea birds. I spend a lot of time boating, a source of many images for my paintings. I paint scenes from places I visit and photograph, and during the milder months, I enjoy painting plein air with The Westport Art Group.
